Inspired by true events, Captive Love is a dramatic short film that views Stockholm Syndrome from a female perspective. While intense emotional bonds are often forged between captors and captives in hostage situations, Captive Love explores the evolution of these bonds, and whether or not these emotions can actually be love. A portion of the funds raised through this campaign will go to the London, ON based shelter the WOMEN'S COMMUNITY HOUSE. The Story: For the past thirty years, Sonia (JENNIFER DALE, Men With Brooms, Rumours) and Darren (ART HINDLE, E.N.G., Paradise Falls) have developed an emotional connection by exchanging letters. However, he's in jail for armed robbery where she was one of his hostages. Upon Darren’s release, Sonia decides to have dinner with him. Over the course of the meal the two begin to reminisce, and Sonia has flashbacks of the crime. Sonia must make a choice: say goodbye to Darren forever, or leave the life she’s built behind to be with him.
