Serious Motorcycle Crash

Constable Sandasha Bough Corporate Communications and Public Relations On Sunday, July 10, 2016 at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of White Oaks Road and Blakie Road for a report of a serious motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, a motorcycle and its’ driver were located in the ditch at this location. The operator of the motorcycle, a 23-year-old male from London, had suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to the hospital by EMS. The Traffic Management Unit attended the scene to conduct the investigation and roads were closed in the area for a number of hours. The driver of the motorcycle has been charged with the following Highway Traffic Act offences: One count of Careless Driving contrary to Section 130; One count of Drive Motor Vehicle Improper License contrary to Section 32(1); One count of Drive Motor Vehicle No Plates contrary to Section 7(1)(b)(i); and One count of Owner Operate Motor Vehicle No Insurance contrary to Section 2(1)(a). The London Police Service would like to take this opportunity to remind drivers to ensure they have the proper class license for the vehicle they are operating and to operate all vehicles within the parameters of the law.
