(Spurgeon) Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NIV) This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. Colossians 3:10 (NIV) and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Peter 3:18 (NIV) But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. Eph 1:17 (NIV) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. God’s existence: General Revelation & Special Revelation Acts 14:17 Psalm 19:1 Romans 1:18-20 The natural argument for God’s existence - General Revelation Cosmological - Every event has a cause. Teleological - Evidence of design and purpose in the universe require a universal Designer. Moral - The existence of objective moral values implies the existence of a transcendent Ground of values. Thementalproof - Our minds which are non-material, are proof of a Transcendent Mind. As nothing in the material world itself can explain thought or intelligence. If there isn’t an original, objective intelligent thinker, how can we trust our own thinking to be true. Christological - Jesus’s own words, works, fulfilment of prophecy, death and resurrection are only possible if by the work and existence of God.
