Whites Park in Wallisville, Texas is a perfect stop as you travel I-10. This free county park allows up to 3 nights with a permit - a free permit! The requirements are you must be self-contained, email your driver license to the county and they will email a permit back (they didn't get back to us until the next day). The park has picnic tables, trash cans, an equestrian center and a launch ramp for access to the bayou.
