It is not uncommon for Minecraft modpacks to have hundreds of mods in them all with their own unique features. Modpacks are then taken up a notch when they are added to a server and can be experienced with friends. Luckily, you have found the complete guide on how to add modpacks to a Minecraft server. This is done specifically using SimpleGameHosting, so let's get started. First things first, we need to determine how much RAM your modpack server will need. Minecraft modpacks require a lot of RAM in order to run effectively. Generally, a modpack with 100 or less mods needs 4GB to 6GB of RAM. A modpack with 100 to 200 mods needs 6GB to 8GB of RAM, and a modpack with 200+ mods needs 8GB to 10GB of RAM. Now, these RAM numbers aren't set in stone, and the number of players you have on your server will affect the amount of RAM your modpack server needs as well. However, it is a good general run as to how much RAM you need for a modpack server. Once you know how much RAM you need for your Minecraft modpack server, purchase the appropriate package at SimpleGameHosting. Then, login to your panel account using the "Account Created" email you received. From there, stop your server on the console tab with the red "Stop" button. Then, click on the File Manage button at the top. Select all of the files in the File Manager except the "eula.txt" file and click "Delete" at the bottom of the page. Then, confirm you want to delete the files. Now, navigate to the "Modpacks" at the top of the control panel. If you had a modpack installed previously, you will need to uninstall it using the "Uninstall" button at the top of the page. Finally, we can go over how to make a modpack server in Minecraft. To do this, select the modpack launcher that your modpack uses. We support CurseForge, Modrinth, Feed The Beast, Technic, and Voidswrath. CurseForge is the most popular modpack installer, so we will be going over how to add a CurseForge modpack to a Minecraft server. Click on CurseForge in the modpacks tab and search for the modpack you want. In this video, we are going to be making a DawnCraft server. Once you have found the modpack you want, click the "Version" drop-down. Then, select the most recent version of the modpack at the bottom of the version drop-down list. Then, click the "Install" button. Confirm you want to install the modpack by clicking "Yes". Then, your modpack will install onto your Minecraft server. Once it it is finished, navigate back to the "Console" tab and hit "Start" on the console to start your modded server. In order to join your modded Minecraft server, you will need to download the modpack launcher you selected on the panel, install the modpack using that modpack app/launcher and then, play Minecraft using the modpack through the app/launcher. We go over exactly how to do this on CurseForge in the video, but it is very similar for the other modpack apps such as Feed The Beast (FTB), Technic, and VoidsWrath. Just keep in mind that you must have the modpack downloaded locally and be playing the modpack in order to join your modpack Minecraft server. You can find the IP address to join the server using the modpack on your PC in the top right of the console page on the control panel. With that being said, you now know how to make a Minecraft server with modpacks. If you have any questions about how to get a modpack Minecraft server, let us know in the comments.
