This is the third video from my August 2025 Western trip, going to the trains in Wyoming and Nebraska! This is Union Pacific territory, and for a Midwestern guy like me, everything looked bigger- Bailey Yard, the average intermodal train, the sky- you name it. Highlights: Trains from the footbridge over UP's yard in Laramie, two chases: one from Laramie to Hermosa WY; the other from Cheyenne all the way to Bailey Yard; FEC 7558- a high hood GP9 built for the Pennsy, now working the elevator at Chappell NE; 250 locomotives at Bailey Yard; yard goat UPY 1472, an EMD MP15AC; cars gliding down from the hump into receiving tracks; even a Union Pacific-Norfolk Southern lash-up that had all the railfans talking about the proposed merger; and intermodal trains with four head end locomotives and two mid-train DPUs.
