Q&A Session Report: Q: Is there an interface between migration center and Tessella's "Preservica" product? e.g. for creating and transfering SIP's between Documentum and Preservica? A: There is no interface directly but I guess you can easily use the migration-center to create SIP packages and import these into Preservica. Q: Can the migration-center be used to migrate content from mainframe systems to say Documentum A: Yes. The migration-center can be used formany many platforms. Source and Target Q: Can you share license details of InfoArchive? A: The InfoArchive license is based on volume. Q: Once document gets archived will be deleted from source system? A: At the moment the migration-center will never delete any files for business reasons but we have plans to implement such a feature: marking files in the source to be deleted later when they were successfully imported. Q: What is the size limitations while performing live archiving, can i archive a file/ content with size of 10GB? A: Yes. There are no special limitations. Q: What is your definition of active content? Users viewing the content or content that is actively being worked?, ie, part of a workflow A: That really depends on your business requirements. Typically passive content are documents which will most likely not be edited anymore where active content represents documents where users are working on. Q: Does Info Archive only uses only xDB as backend or can we use other - RDBMS SQL svr, Oracle etc ... A: xDB is an inherent part of InfoArchive. You cannot replace it with anything else. Q: Can we import archive documents into another target point? A: Yes. It is possible to mgirate all content, also content which has already beend importer, to more supported target platform as many times as you like. Q: Can we change the Object Properties once imported into Archive System? A: That can only be done with re-importing the file again -along with the new metadata. Normally archived content is kind of fixed and should not be changed at all. Q: If I have multiple object types of data for archive do I have to configure multiple holdings or one holding is enough? A: Multiple holdings would be recommended if the type of data of your object types are different, like when one type is used for invoices, another one for project documentation. You could, however, put everything into one holding. It really depends on your business requirements: what metadata do you wish to store or how would you like to handle access to the archived data. Q: How can we customize InfoArchive for Client specific requirements? Like we can use WDK for customizing webtop in Documentum? "A: The default InfoArchive client can only be customized by configuring search forms, query configuration and result stylesheets. If this doesn't cover your requirements you can implement your own client and communicate with InfoArchive using the provided WebService." Q: Does Infoarchive also archive fulltext data along with content? For content that is not full text indexed, can InfoArchive be configured to perform full text indexing while archiving? A: InfoArchive does not extract fulltext data from or provide full text search functionality for unstructured content . As of now you can only search the metadata. Q: Is there any support for MQ message queue avialable in infoArchive like IBM MQ / Java Messaging etc ... ? A: No. Q: Does migration center support archiving from relational databse tables? A: Yep.
