Welcome to the second episode of kMPE! For each month of 2025, a playlist based off the original 12 Monstercat genres will be shared out to you all. You will rank all the tracks within the playlists from 1-30 (1-20 for Hard Dance / Happy Hardcore). No track scores or reasonings are needed, just the position. Each playlist will be due back on the second-to-last Sunday of each month (changed from a Monday previously). Voting for the next month's genre is done in my Discord server which you can join here: / discord Some disclaimers: Dates are in DD/MM/YYYY. View counts are taken from the most viewed Youtube video & for this video both views and plays were taken on 17/02/2025. All release dates were taken from Monstercat Wiki. My personal rankings and reasonings: This Feeling (91%) While, the vocal gets a little repetitive; the bass and synth melodies are so much fun to listen to. Galactic Voyage (84%) I love how laid back and relaxing this song is, the melodies are yet again phenomenal. 2U (83%) Some of my favourite BC Electro House, I love the sound design usage and creepyness; especially that 2nd drop. Boy and the Beast (100%) Easily one of the best atmospheres on any Monstercat song, the progression of this song is key for me; the dark, gritty first drop of the beast, and into the beautifully melancholic and intense second drop of the boy. Grit (86%) Bossfight's House has always been his strongest suit because of his use of genre splicing and great basslines, and this song is no different. 4D (88%) One of BC's cleanest tracks, top it off with catchy lyrics and you have this banger. New Game (92%) One of NF's bests, the progression carries almost as hard as the banger chiptune melodies in the drops. Contra (85%) Early PT was god tier, and the third drop of this song is one of the best final drops on Monstercat; their bass work is so good. Digital Friends (90%) I love fun and catchy Electro so much, and this song has heavily grown on me over the last year. Want Your Love (92%) This might be EMEL's best vocal performance, combine that with a killer buildup with an incredibly impactful drop and you get one of Stonebank's best Electro tracks. The Fire (100%) Great vocals, great atmosphere, great progression; need I say more? Taking Over (94%) I absolutely love how catchy the vocals in combination with the main melodies are, it truly elevates this track for me. Just Dance (95%) One of my favourite BC tracks, purely because of how fun, clean and catchy it is; simply as that. STEREO (83%) This song feels like a return to form, but an improvement on his original style; the perfect combination for me. Fugitive (97%) OH. MY. GOD. What a buildup, it sends shivers down my spine every time. Blast From the Past (85%) Exactly what the title says, it's a fun, nostalgic Electro banger. Eden (90%) One of the few Au5 songs I love, but tbf it's Electro so of course it's going to be good. Showdown (100%) A timeless banger that seamlessly blends between heavy and funky. Paradise (84%) Just a classic BC banger with fun melodies. PIXEL (86%) Tokyo Machine at his best; I love how it really sounds like something that could come from a pixel game. It's also incredibly nostalgic for me. Time Goes By (97%) OMG this is peak Nitro Fun, the melodies, chiptune influence, basses, and chords are all on point; plus that breakdown is so good. Stickup (95%) This is peak Electro, an absolute head-bopper. Subside (94%) Bossfight basses combined with Ephixa's legendary atmosphere and synths is the key to a banger Electro track. Plus, that Trap section is god-tier. What Are You Waiting For (86%) The synth and bass melodies are to die for, especially the call and response section in the drop. Truth and Malice (90%) INTERCOM was way too short lived because I would've loved more Electro like this on Monstercat; the orchestral influence is great. OMG That second drop too. The Difference Between.. (99%) This is the definition of pure fun, and SW at his best imo. He has always had great melodies, but too often the whacky basses or chops would interfere; not here. Cheat Codes (89%) A classic in every sense of the word, NF does a great job replicating old-school videogame soundtracks, with that Electro House flair added to it. Rain (80%) Astronaut's best imo, that breakbeat section at the start really helps it stand out from their other works too. Dystopia 2077 (83%) The atmosphere for this track is great, and I love how hard it goes with the Synthwave influence. Rescue Me (90%) A severely underrated banger from Stonebank with phenomenal vocals and a killer drop.
