In this episode, I pulled the blowout technique prompt, and created a very soothing and simplistic abstract art piece. Come along for this fluid art tutorial and see how this unique painting comes to life through acrylic pouring, resulting in a soft abstract design. I will not be including dry results. I'll try to think of a way to do one video at the end of all of the dry results. ALL OF THESE PAINTINGS ARE FOR SALE. I will varnish each painting before sending. Keep in mind, you are seeing these wet, so the paint must cure, and so must the varnish. These things take time, so you will not be getting your painting automatically. We can talk about it. Anyway! Enough business....ON WITH THE CHALLENGE! Didn't we juuuuust finish Bloom Pleats? I was a little amused, and a little frustrated to draw this prompt. Why? I've been watching Jessica ‪@WinterStromArt‬ do such spiffy Bloomy things, and I've been wanting to try to do what she's been doing, and this was so close, yet sooooooo far. My pleats surprised me on this one, by becoming so big! I'm actually still a little shocked, but after shooting, I got to really lookin' at it, and it looks almost like wood of some weird kind. I like it. Do I still wish I had just used the white for my pillow? Yes. Did I wish it hard enough to start over? I did not. If I was going to do these colors again, though, I'd give it a shot, just to see how that looks. So...why did my pleats grow to such gargantuan portions? I really think I overloaded the pillow on both substrates by at least half. Oddly, I think it's kinda cool...so my pleats aren't tiny...LET'S NOT BODY-SHAME MY PLEATS! Ha. I actually do dig the retro color scheme.
