LIRR: Weekend M7 and M9 Train Action at Elmont - UBS Arena (Post-Grand Central Schedule Changes)

Taken 3/4/23. Seen here are several Long Island Rail Road trains on the Hempstead, Port Jefferson, and Ronkonkoma Branches stopping at Elmont - UBS Arena. Full service into Grand Central started last week when the new schedule changes went into effect. With these changes, Elmont - UBS Arena became a full time stop on the Main Line, serviced by all trains on the Hempstead Branch and most trains on the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma Branches. Off-peak service has improved significantly, with more trains running every hour and stopping at more stations, which allows for flexible transfers outside of Jamaica. The Hempstead Branch now runs primarily to Grand Central, and the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma Branches are now split between Grand Central and Penn Station, running every 30 minutes east of Jamaica and sometimes making stops in Queens (at Floral Park, Queens Village, and Hollis). Peak service... well, to say it hasn't met anyone's expectations yet would be a huge understatement... if you know, you know... In this video, you'll see some trains on the Hempstead, Port Jefferson, and Ronkonkoma Branches (comprised of Bombardier M7s and Kawasaki M9s) running between Grand Central / Penn Station and either Floral Park, Huntington, or Ronkonkoma. The bridge at Cherry Valley Avenue in Garden City was being replaced, so trains were suspended between Floral Park and Hempstead for the next few weekends.
