Children Youth & Women - Research & Practice Forum (CYW-RPF) 15th Anniversary Annual Workshop

This 15th year anniversary workshop of the Children Youth and Women - Research and Practice Forum (CYW-RPF) was held in Addis Ababa on 11 February 2025. The workshop included keynote addresses from H.E Dr Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Dr Aboubakar Kampo, UNICEF Representative in Ethiopia and Mr Schadrack Dusabe, UNWOMEN Deputy Representative in Ethiopia, and a welcoming address by Dr Alula Pankhurst, Young Lives Ethiopia Country Director. There were 14 presentations including 5 in the plenary in the morning and 9 in three parallel sessions on Violence Against Children, Empowerment and Vulnerability. The Workshop was sponsored by UNWOMEN, UNICEF the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Young Lives. The CYW-RP Forum has been run for 15 years by Young Lives with the Ministry of Women, Children and Youth and more recently the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs and UNICEF Ethiopia with monthly seminars on the last Thursday of every month. The seminars have been held at the Ministry and online, providing a space for different stakeholders including researchers, government, international organisations and NGO to present findings of evidence based policy relevant research.
