Today we're going over How To Clean an AR 15 and the Fastest Way to Clean an AR 15 Proper maintenance is essential to keeping your AR-15 in top condition, and cleaning and lubrication are key components of that maintenance. In this article, we will go over step-by-step instructions on how to clean and lube an AR-15. Materials Needed: AR-15 cleaning kit (includes bore brush, cleaning rod, cleaning patches, and lubricant) Cleaning solvent Gun oil or lubricant Step 1: Safety Check Before beginning any cleaning or maintenance on your AR-15, it is essential to ensure that the firearm is unloaded and that there is no ammunition in the immediate vicinity. Step 2: Disassemble Your AR-15 Remove the upper and lower receivers, and separate the bolt carrier group from the upper receiver. Remove the charging handle and the buffer assembly from the lower receiver. Step 3: Clean the Barrel Attach the bore brush to the cleaning rod and apply cleaning solvent to the brush. Run the bore brush through the barrel several times to loosen any dirt, carbon buildup, or residue. Next, attach a cleaning patch to the cleaning rod and run it through the barrel to remove any remaining debris. Continue this process until the cleaning patch comes out clean. Step 4: Clean the Bolt Carrier Group Use a cleaning brush and solvent to clean the bolt carrier group, paying close attention to the bolt face, the firing pin, and the inside of the bolt carrier. Step 6: Lubricate the AR-15 Apply a few drops of gun oil or lubricant to the bolt carrier group, the charging handle, and the inside of the upper receiver. Apply a few drops of lubricant to the buffer assembly and the trigger group of the lower receiver. Step 7: Reassemble Your AR-15 Reassemble your AR-15 by reversing the steps you took during disassembly. Step 8: Function Check Before taking your AR-15 out to the range, perform a function check to ensure that all parts are working properly.
