Slovak PM Fico on why he joins Beijing for China's V-Day parade commemorating WWII amid EU disputes

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced on Monday (September 1) that he will attend World War Two anniversary commemorations in Beijing this week, where he is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Fico said he will also meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in eastern Slovakia on Friday. He noted the Beijing visit offered an opportunity for dialogue with world leaders, adding that EU representatives had been informed of his plans.
