The largest economic growth on the island began with the discovery of iron ore deposits in 1890 and its subsequent development. The video shows one of the mines (# 5) which can be accessed through Grebe's Nest. You can go to the mine at your own risk and peril. The entrance to the mine resembles a walk through a Roman amphitheater with columns. Landslides occur periodically in these mines, and many tunnels are blocked. Perhaps, after some time, the mine will be completely filled up due to groundwater. The video shows these streams, and we also heard the noise of a small waterfall.
