Outdoor discovery together. 🌲 On this hike, we stayed mostly on trail — but that didn’t stop us from making some incredible discoveries along the way. 🌳 An odd tree that almost looks alive 🚗 An abandoned car hidden in the woods 🌿 Rare skunk cabbage, which only appears for a short time each year in central North Carolina Skunk cabbage has a very short late winter / early spring window here, and it’s not easy to find. We had one chance this season to see it — and this trail delivered. Sometimes the most interesting things aren’t far off the path… you just have to slow down and look.
