It's been a hell of a journey since Melody Feder burst on to the Australian Music Scene in 2009. With a string of performance and song writing awards, Melody rapidly won respect from many early adopters in the country music scene. Her 2010 debut EP "Dirt Roads & Diamonds" was released to strong reviews and picked up airplay with the lead track "RSVP"on some of Australia's top country music radio shows. While this girl next door with cutting edge flair grew up on a diet of Linda Rondstat, Dolly Parton and Kasey Chambers, her palate has broadened with maturity through a love of artists that include Patty Griffin, Brandi Carlile, Alison Krauss, Trent Crawford and Eliza Gilkyson. Her style is an eclectic mix of Folk/Pop and Alternative Country, Her country roots evident in all she does, but always with a freshness and vibrancy and something a little bit different. 2011 was a big year for Melody, playing many major festivals including Gorgeous Festival and Mildura Country Music Festival, she continued this with an exciting 2012 in which she embarked on a pilgrimage to the US where she spent 6 weeks immersing herself in everything the Country had to offer. She spent a month in the Music capital of the world Austin, Texas, where she performed at many famous venues including Gruene Hall along with fellow Australians, Bill Chambers, Catherine Britt, Michael Muchow, Harry Hookey & John Scholten. She than spent a week in Nashville where she was invited to perform at world renowned Tootsies, treading hallowed ground, where artists such as Hank Williams & Johnny Cash performed.
