He holds a master’s in science degree from Florida International University and a bachelor’s (magna cum laude) from The New York Institute of Technology. Winston is a prvious adjunct professor at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, and a previous Commissioner of the city of Miramar. Winston has been the news director at WAVS 1170 AM Radio for over 33 years. He also has hosted “The Open Line,” airing Monday through Wednesday, 12p.m.-1p.m., for the same length of time. “The Open Line” is a staple for the Caribbean Community in South Florida, providing food for thought about Caribbean and other issues.
