The firearms purchased for them by the administration of former Governor Godwin Obaseki are still in their possession. These arms are being used to kidnap people and make Edo ungovernable. We call on all security agencies to go after these PDP leaders who are sponsoring these criminals and bring them to justice. We have individuals like Francis Talo and Godas, among others, who are known to be the sponsors of these criminals. The government led by Governor Godwin Obaseki has since swung into action with crucial steps to allegedly address the insecurity in the state. Governor Obaseki has signed some critical bills into law. Those who had a free ride in Edo State are now on the run. The kidnappers are also hiding and on the run. The Governor has taken other bold steps to address the security issues, and we call on the security agencies and the people of Edo State to support him in flushing out the remaining criminals. The state chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has briefed the media on the rising trend of insecurity in the state, accusing Governor Obaseki's administration of positioning the state as unsafe for the people. From Edo South to Edo North and Edo Central, killings and violent attacks have become rampant. The state, once considered one of Nigeria's safest places to live and do business under the leadership of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, has now gained a notorious reputation as the capital of kidnapping and violent crimes. It is interesting to ask: Senator Obaseki, what happened to the elaborate surveillance system, the cameras, screens, the command and control system, and other security measures put in place by Governor Oshiomhole, which were the envy of the entire country? Where are all the world-class standard communication devices handed over to all security commanders across the state? The APC will retain power both at the federal and state levels in 2027. The PDP in Edo State is dead. A solemn funeral service will be organized for the PDP in Edo State very soon. As a political party, we will rest, strategize, and prepare for the 2027 election. We will mobilize over 2 million voters and ensure that we win all available seats in Edo State. We will also deliver a landslide victory for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In fact, Edo State will produce the highest number of votes for President Tinubu in the entire South.
