The boxer is a Boxrec-registered professional boxer (in yellow shorts). The jumpy guy in black with the headgear is the Panantukan guy (me ). The sparring session followed boxing rules. The boxer is a good friend so he was obviously taking it easy. I, on the other hand, was trying my absolute best to not look like a complete ass during the sparring session. It's not even fair to call it a sparring session, more like partner play, I consider myself a Panantukan guy first and foremost, but I love western boxing as a sport in itself and as an excellent supplement to any martial art. Panantukan is a term that has come to mean Eskrima-based Filipino boxing in the west. I train with boxers as much as I can to further my empty hand game. My FMA background includes Rapido Realismo Kali, Modern Arnis, and some limited Pekiti Tirsia Kali and Dekiti Tirsia Siradas. Footage taken at JRA Fitness Hub, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines ( / jrafitnesshub ) Rapido Realismo Kali facebook page : / rapidorealismokalifma NOTE: As as Filipino, I know the word "Panantukan" doesn't make sense in the context of the Filipino language. But I think the term may be too deeply entrenched in FMA that it might be here to stay. I tend to veer away from discussions regarding FMA terminology since I'm very far from being an expert on the subject.
