Fishing Shipwrecks Bay (Te Kohanga) in Ahipara, New Zealand
After leaving Raglan, New Zealand our family headed up to the Northland to Shipwrecks Bay (Te Kohanga) in Ahipara to do some surfing. Unfortunately, the surf didn't cooperate other than the first day we got here so to make the most of our trip we busted out the fishing rods and began fishing off the rocks and beaches. It took a while to figure out how to catch some fish, but once we did, it was game on! In fact, we caught and released so many kahawai that some suggested giving some of our catch to the locals, which we gladly obliged. It was a great way to have some fun and give back to such a welcoming community up here!
