Corneal Debulking to protect Iris Tissue during PK in Corneo Iridic Scars

Corneal perforations due to bacterial and fungal keratitis, trauma, and keratomalacia result in dense corneoiridic scars. During PK, iris tissue may be traumatized inadvertantly resulting in a large surgical coloboma or iridodi­ alysis, due to en bloc removal of the host button . The technique of Corneal debulking is an alternative technique to en bloc removal of the host corneal button.
