It is a relatively easy tool to use, even for beginners. Forensic disk images are bit-by-bit copies of digital storage devices. We verify the integrity of digital forensic images by calculating a hash value of the data. Hashing algorithms normally used in digital forensic investigations are MD5 and SHA1.
