📝 Présentation : L’enjeu de cette intervention est de mettre en question le présupposé très profond selon lequel l’intimité - au sens de ce qui est au cœur du sujet, de ce qui lui est le plus propre - renverrait à une sphère d’intériorité close sur elle-même, définie par son opposition à l’extériorité, au grand Dehors du monde. Il s’agit ici d’établir qu’il y a une communication secrète et profonde, voire une identité entre le plus immanent et le plus transcendant, entre le centre du sujet et le cœur du monde. L’intimité doit donc d’abord être comprise comme intimité au monde, non seulement au sens d’une appartenance et d’une ouverture à lui mais aussi d’un accès à ce qu’il a de plus propre. 🙋 Renaud Barbaras est professeur de philosophie contemporaine à l’Université Paris1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne) et membre de l’Institut Universitaire de France. The point here is to establish that there is a secret and profound communication, even an identity between the most immanent and the most transcendent, between the centre of the subject and the heart of the world. Intimacy must therefore first be understood as intimacy with the world, not only in the sense of belonging and openness to it but also in the sense of access to its most distinctive features. Renaud Barbaras is Professor of Contemporary Philosophy at the University of Paris1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and a member of the Institut Universitaire de France.
