Today we make another classic cocktail recipe. This time it's the Old Pal. Some people think of the Old Pal as a little brother to the Boulevardier. Both drinks are quite are quite similar, and ultimately descend from the Negroni family tree. Whereas the Boulevardier uses Bourbon and Sweet Vermouth, the Old Pal traditionally calls for equal parts Rye, Dry Vermouth, and Campari. The recipe we use today is a bit more suited to modern palates, and uses a 2:1:1 ratio of whiskey to the other ingredients, and comes from the Death and Co. book (http://amzn.to/224Ylbg). 1.5 oz Rittenhouse 100 Proof Rye Whiskey 0.75 oz Campari 0.75 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth Stir and pour into a rocks glass with a large ice cube and garnish with expressed lemon peel.
