just! just! Many people are trapped by floods in Canada! Melting glaciers turn into floods! Swallowing houses and towns! Welcome to subscribe! Welcome to subscribe! Heavy rain on Monday put southern Ontario, Canada, under severe flood threat. The warm weather melted the long-accumulated snow in the north, and combined with strong winds and rainstorms, it was inevitable that low-lying towns and villages would suffer from floods. The beginning of this severe weather can be traced back to March 15, when the Grand River Conservation Authority issued a flood warning in response to impending heavy rain and strong winds. Forecasts show that a low pressure system originating in Colorado is moving northeast and colliding with a high pressure system over the Atlantic Ocean, bringing heavy rain and strong winds for several days. In the following days, the "Colorado Low" system arrived as expected, bringing strong winds and heavy rains to large areas of Ontario. In just a few days, the entire southern region was hit by severe rainstorms. According to statistics from the meteorological department, the rainfall in most areas is between 10-20 mm, but in the southwest and the Nicol belt, the rainfall in some areas is as high as 40 mm. This heavy rainfall, coupled with a sharp rise in temperature, caused the previously accumulated snow to melt rapidly, forming a large amount of runoff, which in turn caused serious flood disasters. Our channel aims to analyze meteorological phenomena and provide information for scientific research. Advocate and promote more scientific environmental protection concepts, prevent disasters and protect the earth.
