These socks do not have a built in heel, so they can be put on in any orientation. Thus the wear on the socks, which is often mostly on the heel, is now distributed all the way around the sock! Plenty of patterns for knitting spiral socks, if you look online! Tim then brings out his mittens that he bought in Iceland. These each have two thumbs, so when the palm of the mitten wears out, you can switch the mitten around, so the back of the mitten now becomes the new palm. Finally, Tim recalls a laundrette in New York which he used to use, which was called 'That Missing Sock'.
