The purification involves repeating six days of puja, with devotee entry temporarily restricted. This incident highlights the Guruvayur temple's strict policy against non-Hindu entry, a restriction not uniformly observed in other Kerala temples. As stated, "Guruvayur temple is probably the most prominent temple in Kerala that has this particular restriction where it doesn't allow non-Hindu people to enter the temple premises."
