Special alert: this video is only for open minded people. FIRST OF ALL, i am a doom Opeth addicted fan, desperately in love with them but i say everytime the truth, and I am saying something controvertial here (finally we need someone who has the courage to say something different, I can't believe the reactions and photocopy opinions, so stop pimped or spoiled reactions). Acoustic guitar not received in this whole record, so nothing even close or similar with the first Opeth era. GORGEOUS start of this one, with UNREAL riff; than, in my opinion a couple of minutes of little-redundant nonsense at the end in a very good 6 minutes song. Growls are really different from the past : more hoarse and less powerful than in the past, as in the live shows of the last 12 years, compared with the London's concerts gems. This is 90% new era Opeth (Watershed included) and 10% since BWP until Ghost reveries inspirated. Certainly, objectively, not their best album. Of course i need to listen more times this record, because Mikeal Akerfeldt masterclass in composing staggering music is everytime presente, and is not something calculable. However i still do adore the topic and concept, the story inside this ambitious record. In-depht analysis at the end of this one. Enjoy my reaction.
