The Eiger Sanction | Collab Discussion & Review I'll be joined by @Colhauser and @LexLudendi as we discuss this 1975 film directed by and starring Clint Eastwood. The Eiger Sanction follows Jonathan Hemlock, an art history professor and skilled mountain climber who also happens to be a retired government assassin. His quiet life is disrupted when a secret intelligence agency forces him back into service to carry out a pair of “sanctions” — officially authorized assassinations. To complete the final mission, Hemlock must join an international climbing expedition attempting to scale the deadly north face of the Eiger in Switzerland. Somewhere among the climbers is his target — but he doesn’t know who it is. As the team ascends the treacherous mountain, Hemlock must identify the killer, survive the brutal climb, and carry out the mission before becoming a victim himself.
