Moby first grew a cult following as a DJ, every now and then flirting with more guitar-heavy music. But on his 1996 album Animal Rights, he went from flirting with rock to going all the way with it. How well did it go down? Well, here's a line that was apparently in a review of it back in the day: "maybe somebody should try to convince Moby that guitars are actually made out of dead animals". I'm hoping to return to my Wiki's Worst Albums series soon, but I'd been wanting to make a video about this album, curious to know what a punk album by a techno artist might sound like. And that's got me thinking - what other artists made their name in more of a non-rock genre then suddenly came out with something guitar-driven? Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven is probably the most recent/notable example currently - can anyone think of others?
