Lucy worked part-time at colleges and universities while she was studying for her degree. This work helped her realise that she enjoyed working with young people, particularly supporting them as they worked to achieve their goals. Lucy responded to an advert for a pastoral lead role. She didn't know much about the role beforehand but found the work was exactly what she wanted to do. To someone starting out today, Lucy says being resilient and dealing with knock-backs is vital when you are looking for work. She also recommends being patient, especially when you are learning the ropes.
