Fuorisalone 2024 – Sound Art & Light Control

In occasione del Fuorisalone 2024 abbiamo rinnovato la collaborazione con THIA design studio, partecipando progettazione di Corpo Unico, installazione incentrata sulla relazione tra la luce e l’arte contemporanea con opere scultoree di Salvatore Astore, presso lo spazio espositivo allestito da Qu nel quartiere Brera. In Corpo Unico la luce, che allude al ciclo solare e ne propone una rotazione, muta esattamente come farebbe il sole nell’arco della giornata illuminando l’opera da una sola direzione e proiettando la sua ombra nello spazio circostante. Partendo quindi da questa interazione visiva tra la luce del sole e le sculture è stata Ideata Solar Resonance progetto sonoro site-specific basato sulla programmazione generativa. Si tratta di ambientazione sonora basata sulla programmazione generativa attraverso l’utilizzo di MAX MSP che esamina il rapporto dinamico tra il sole, l’ambiente e il suono. La composizione utilizza dati astronomici e climatici concreti per creare un ambiente sonoro in costante evoluzione che riflette i movimenti solari, i cambiamenti di temperatura colore e le variazioni climatiche. Elementi acustici, come droni metallici e suoni organici quali respiro e battito cardiaco, si fondono con le sculture in acciaio di Salvatore Astore, creando una narrazione sensoriale che si adatta in tempo reale agli stimoli ambientali e astronomici. Questa integrazione di arte, tecnologia e natura invita i visitatori a riflettere sulla reciproca interdipendenza tra vita, ciclo solare e percezione sensoriale, facilitando un dialogo unico tra le opere, la luce e il paesaggio sonoro, ulteriormente arricchito dall’impiego di API astronomiche per un design sonoro in continuo mutamento. In Corpo Unico, light, which alludes to the solar cycle , changes exactly as the sun would over the course of the day, illuminating the work from one direction and casting its shadow in the surrounding space. Thus, starting from this visual interaction between the sunlight and the sculptures was conceived Solar Resonance site-specific sound project based on generative programming. It is sound setting based on generative programming through the use of MAX MSP that examines the dynamic relationship between the sun, the environment and sound. The composition uses concrete astronomical and climatic data to create a constantly changing sound environment that reflects solar movements, color temperature changes, and climate variations. Acoustic elements, such as metallic drones and organic sounds such as breath and heartbeat, merge with Salvatore Astore's steel sculptures, creating a sensory narrative that adapts in real time to environmental and astronomical stimuli. This integration of art, technology, and nature invites visitors to reflect on the mutual interdependence of life, the solar cycle, and sensory perception, facilitating a unique dialogue between the works, light, and soundscape, further enhanced by the use of astronomical APIs for an ever-changing sound design.
