Welcome World Beachfront Resort is a mid-priced hotel located in the Jomtien Beach area, in front of Dongtan Beach. For this stay, I booked "Deluxe Double - North Wing". The price was 1694 Thai Baht (49 USD). Generally, prices here are around 50 USD per night, however, in rainy season prices can be way cheaper (30-40 USD per night). This location is quite optimal since the beach is easily accessible and the area is relatively quiet. The main Jomtien Road is approximately 200 meters from the hotel, while the main bar and restaurant area in Jomtien (Soi 1-8) is around 300 to 600 meters away. Swimming pool and fitness center The hotel has 3 swimming pools with a pool bar. The prices at the pool bar are quite affordable: beers are 65 baht, soft drinks are 45 baht, cocktails range from 180 to 220 baht, and smoothies cost between 100 and 120 baht. While some sunbeds are reserved by package tourists, there are plenty available, so I wouldn't expect all of them to be full, even during the high season. At least during my visit, I didn't see any shortage of sunbeds. Additionally, the beach is just 50 meters away, which is full of beachbar-type sunbed services (typically, you need to order something costing between 50 to 100 baht to use them). The fitness center is located next to the swimming pool. While it is fairly well-equipped, some of the machines are outdated. Nevertheless, there are enough machines available for an optimal training session. For example, bench press and pull-ups can be done. At least, I could get a good workout done here without the risk of using older machines. Breakfast Breakfast was included in my hotel rate. The hotel breakfast was quite basic, offering normal coffee and tea from a pot (no special coffees, or machines). For drinks, there were only two types of juice, milk, and water available. The food options included some buns and toast that guests could toast themselves. The warm food selections featured soup, chicken, roasted meat, fish, and fried rice. There were also salad and fruit sections. Fortunately, the hotel is conveniently located just a 500-meter walk from the restaurant area, specifically Soi 1-5, which offers plenty of breakfast and food options. I ate meals at Cheap Charlie's Restaurant, which is one of the best value expat restaurants located in Soi 5 (99-120 baht meals). Is Welcome World Beachfront Resort good value for money? If the price is around 45-50 USD per night I would say it's OK value for money. I liked this room and would be comfortable staying here for up to two weeks. The bed was good quality, soft and clean. The bathroom was of acceptable quality, of course, the shower could use update. The balconies here are great with good views in most rooms. The hotel's location also optimal in this area. There are a lot of restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. The beach is easily accessible from the hotel, and there is a good walking areas in front of the hotel. As for the fitness center, it's adequate for my needs, although some of the older machines may need to be replaced. The swimming pools are also good, and the prices for poolside service are reasonable.
