Hello all, I am attempting to explain what some of the settings do on the lighting section of the Clio Mk4 using DDT4ALL software and a wi-fi ELM327 OBDII adaptor and how you can enable or disable certain features including: Change the way your front DRL (driving lights) work on your Clio. Programme the 'Bulb' button on your Clio remote Keycard to turn on the headlights from a distance remotely. Enable your rear (red) tail lights to turn on with your front Driving lights. Enable scandinavian mode (headlights always on when engine running) Enable or disable auto lighting. Enable feedback of lights for Remote Engine Starting (RES) Changing the intensity of the front driving lights (DRL's) .. and more. The car in this experiment is a 2016 Clio Mk4 1.2 16v Phase 1 Clio (DRL Lights either side of Renault badge in the radiator grille and front round fog lamps in the bumper. Apologies for my boring deep voice in the video , on playback I have been analysing at what a boring 'send you to sleep' voice I actually have! And I 'Dither' a lot, i am sorry about that I was tired but I am also forgetful as I am getting older and cannot remember what I am meant to say next so please be kind if you leave any comments LOL. Hopefully though you will still find the video interesting and informative if you are going to attempt to use DDT4ALL programme and just need a little guidance as to what some of the settings do. I am no expert on this , its mainly a hobby and I like fiddling around with things like this and changing settings on things and the knowledge I have picked up is mainly off reading articles on the Internet or settings where I have just jumped right in and changed and taken notes of what it enabled or disabled . Just a note on the DDT4ALL software, it is a very powerful piece of software that can change the ECU (Electronic control units) on your Clio this could also 'break' or damage your ECU and if something goes wrong (car turns off whilst programming / Computer Turns off while programming or even changing a wrong setting or inputting a wrong parameter) you can damage the software of your ECU and this could turn out to be an expensive trip to a Renault main Dealer to get rectified. They may need to re-programme your ECU or maybe rven replace your ECU totally! So you have been warned . Know the risks and use this software at your own risk. That aside I hope you manage to stay awake until the end of this video and that it will help you in some way if you are using this software on your car , or even if you are just curious as to find out what features are available on your Clio mk4 but just disabled at the factory or not enabled on your particular model of Mk4 Renault Clio.. thanks for watching - any questions fire away and I will see if I can answer for you. ECU = Electronic Control Unit - Controls certaian items on the car . There are loads of ECU's in your clio mk4 . Ones for lighting, ones for Engine Control Management, ones for immobiliser, even ones for wipers and climate controls. CAN = Control Area Network (I think) - protocol for connecting the OBDII socket to the ECU. EMM = Engine Management Module (I think?) DRL = Driving Lights (the LED lights at the front of the car) that are lit in the daytime when car is running. PWM = Pulse Wave Modulation - Circuitry to dim LED lights/lighting WGS = Welcome and Goodbye System - when you unlock the car doors the lights will turn on for about 20 seconds and when you walk away from the car and it locks (with 2 beeps) the headlights and rear lights will stay on for 20 seconds and then go out automatically.
