Messier 45 is the wonderful Naked eye opencluster in the constellation of Taurus, the bull, known as the Pleiades or 7 sisters. It is at a distance of 440ly from us Messier 45, know as the pleaides CLuster, is a naked eye open cluster in taurus with an overall brightness of magnitude +1.5, streching out over 2 degrees of the sky. it has been known since antiquity and was even a constellation of it’s own until tha modern boerders were asigned, as such it dose not have a discoverer of such nor did it receive a NGC designigation, but has a lot of astronomers asscotiated with it through the years, Charles Messier added it to the Messier catalogue as the 45th object as his goal was to catalogue bright objects that could be mistaked for comets, and low in the morning or evening sky the Pleaides could be mistakes for one, but it has also been suggested that it was to boost the number of the catalogue. The German astronomer Whilem Tempel observed the cluster on the (on October 19, 1859) the now well-known nebula around Merope in the Pleiades, the announcement of which, though confirmed by various observers with small instruments, was received with much hesitation, as the object was less readily seen with a larger aperture and higher power. . Visual observing M45 is easy once you locate it and rewarding with this target as it is a great test of seeing conditions, and you can really tease out detailin Tempels nebula I hope that these videos can give you an idea of how the night sky can look at the eyepiece of a 200 PDS, 200p, 300p flextube or any 200mm 8 inch or 300mm 12 inch reflector telescope and using a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. I find when trying to purchase a telescope, it is hard to find out what you can see through the eyepiece . ---------------------------Contents----------------------------------- 0:00 INTRO 0:43 LOCATING 1:27 Pleiades CLuster M45 3:30 Types Of Nebulae 5:08 Photography 6:18 OBSERVING 7:54 Observing notes 10:10 Final Thoughts 11:11 Final Photos ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FOLLOW ► INSTAGRAM - / myastronights ***Not affiliate links Just a link to the specs of the stuff I use :) *** EQUIPMENT ► SKYWATCHER 200PDS - https://ktectelescopes.ie/collections...
