Automotive lighting has become a strong part of car designs. To offer more freedom to the designers, micro-optics allows for small and compact lighting solutions. Multichannel micro-optics (aka MLA) is particularly being used increasingly because of its unique advantages over more classic projection technologies: a) a very compact designs and b) extremely homogenous illumination due to the superposition of multiple channels. MLA show great advantages over classical GOBO-based designs in terms of a very large depth of focus and very sharp projections at high oblique angles of incident. We will present typical applications, our simulation and manufacturing workflow and how we analyze the results.
