Field target is an air rifle shooting discipline, where competitors compete in outside conditions to knock over steel silhouette targets with small lead pellets. My USA field target team mate Leo Gonzales shows us here the basic steps in putting an effective shot together: -Use the high-magnification rifle scope to accurately estimate range to the target through careful focusing and a pre-calibrated yardage scale -Dial in the scope settings to correct the scope's sight picture to compensate for the pellet's curved trajectory, so that the pellet lands where the crosshairs point at the estimated yardage. -Cock and load the rifle -Quickly establish a stable hold on the target -Execute a smooth, repeatable trigger pull to release the shot Leo's rig: -Walther LGU underlever spring piston rifle in .177 caliber, shooting at 10.6 foot pounds -Custom field target stock -Sightron 10-50x60 SIII high power scope with custom comma sidewheel -Air Arms 7.9 grain Express pellets This video was filmed in the field target courses of the Massachusetts Rifle Association. Thanks for watching!
