The incident occurred on Sunday when West Bengal workers were attempting to build a road on a disputed patch of land. Alleging illegal encroachment into Odisha's territory, officials from the Bhograi block and Talsari Marine Police intervened and seized a road roller and dumper belonging to the Bengal construction agency. While the Bengal administration claims the project is on their land, Odisha officials argue it violates the 2011 agreement to maintain the status quo in disputed areas. This inter-state border dispute at Udaipur beach has led to a standoff, with local residents from both sides witnessing the police confrontation.
