In this video, I walk through my weekly maintenance routine for one of my Cephalotus and discuss an ongoing experiment involving the addition of fertilizer solution directly to the reservoir. All plants are grown indoors in a non-air-conditioned room under full-spectrum LED grow lights with a consistent 16-hour photoperiod year-round. Due to this constant light exposure, the plants do not flower. Humidity is maintained between 50% and 60%. Fertilization is performed weekly by filling the pitchers (not shown in this video) with a dilution of 1/4 teaspoon of Maxsea fertilizer per gallon of water, supplemented with organic kelp fertilizer. In addition, 20 milliliters of the same solution is added bi-weekly to the reservoir as part of the ongoing experiment for this specimen. Environmental temperatures fluctuate naturally with the seasons, ranging from a winter low of 55°F to a summer high of 97°F. This is a long-term, controlled growing setup, and I will continue documenting observations as the experiment progresses.
