The entire day took in around 50-60 miles of coastal and estuary cruising. We visited the 19th Century Grain Fortress, the wreck of the first world war U-Boat U122, Upnor Castle & 'Deadman's Island'. In between, we played in gulleys and tidal mudflats in accessible to any other vehicle - and stopped for lunch and refreshments at various places along the river...what a day out! In 2008, the team at Flying Fish thought they'd achieved the 'big one' when two Marlin I hovercraft crossed the English Channel from Dover to Calais, over the treacherous Goodwin Sands and then across the busiest shipping lane in the world. Then they turned around and came home, taking under and hour each way. Almost by the time celebrations had finished, one customer in Ireland had eclipsed the feat by casually cruising across the Irish Sea from Ireland to Scotland - and back again! The team went on in 2011 to repeat the channel crossing once again...just to prove it wasn't a fluke!
