NIGERIA MILITARY IN FACE TO FACE BATTLE With Fulani Herdsmen In Benue State...

There have been recent attacks by Fulani herdsmen in Benue State, *June 1, 2025 Attack*: Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen attacked communities in Gwer West and Apa local government areas, killing at least 43 people. The attacks occurred in Tse Antswam, a suburb of Naka town, and Edikwu Ankpali community in Apa LGA. *June 12, 2025 Attack*: Fulani herdsmen launched an attack on Mtsewnem and Akondutyough villages in the North Bank area of Makurdi, killing several people and leaving scores injured. The Benue State University Teaching Hospital appealed for blood donations to save the lives of the injured victims. *Recent Attacks in Ukum LGA*: Hundreds of armed Fulani militia were reported to have taken over Ukum Local Government Area, with residents advised to exercise extreme caution. Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have also invaded some communities in the area, armed with AK-47 rifles. *Other Incidents*: In another incident, suspected herdsmen killed two soldiers and seven villagers, including the village head of Eguma village in Agatu Local Government Area. There have also been reports of attacks on Catholic churches, with over 50 people killed and 15 church parishes shut down in Makurdi Diocese.
