Water comes into the crawl space, usually along the bottom course of block or brick across the top of the Footer. To collect this water before it saturates the soil, a footer tile system needs to be installed. The Footer Tiles are perforated pipe surrounded by gravel placed along side the footer wall inside the crawl space. As water comes across the footer, it drops down through the voids in the gravel and floods into the perforated pipe which carries the water away to a sump pump. Note - Holes in the pipe point down!!!
