2nd day on route | Autocar New Way Sidewinder garbage truck | City of Columbus, OH

Here is the first Sidewinder Columbus is getting along with more new Automizers. I only found out about this truck by random chance. I was actually parked down the road from the transfer station on Jackson Pike to see if I could find anything interesting when I saw the 3 Automizers. I decided to leave after a while when I stopped seeing stuff but then literally right after getting on the highway I see this going the other direction. The very next day I go out to locate this and the Automizers on route and another driver informed me that this truck just hit the streets the day before. Considering how I had no knowledge of this whatsoever beforehand I think it is even more awesome that I found it when I did. Also, this is hard to believe but I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a Sidewinder in action first hand. I was trying to think of any other ones I’ve filmed when it occurred to me that I can’t think of anything. I don’t know whether I have or not. I know I’ve been around a few of these different places but I think I only ever got pictures. So anyway, this was a significant find for more than one reason. These are certainly an interesting addition to the side loader fleet that is now almost entirely made up of Automizers. The truck ran very well from what I could see and the arm in particular is incredibly fast which was fun to watch.
