As Gorman was entering his car three shots pierced the air. LaRoy Gorman was mortally wounded, and would die less than 9 hours later. Rumors, worthy of tabloid mastheads, permeated the city. Now, through the cooperation of the West Virginia State Archives and the Charleston Police Department, the story of one of the most infamous unsolved murders in West Virignia is retold. Using information never before made available to the public, MysteriousWV hopes to finally answer the 35 year old question "Who Killed LaRoy Gorman"? CORRECTION: An alert viewer with knowledge of this matter has advised that the reported "break in" at LaRoy Gorman's Apt. was not a break-in but a controlled entry by persons known to Mr. Gorman who had the proper keys for entry. This was re-checked and found to have been misinformation. Apparently this controlled entry has been transformed by time and memory into a "breaking & entering".
