Siddharth Pandey (PhD Cambridge) is a writer, literary scholar, cultural historian, curator, photographer and musician from Shimla. His writings on Indian hill stations, popular culture and materiality studies have appeared in academic publications and in various national newspapers and online news forums. He is the recipient of several scholarships including a Cambridge Commonwealth Shared Scholarship, a Cambridge International Scholarship, Charles Wallace India Trust grants and postdoctoral fellowships at Yale University and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Pandey spent a month as a Scholar-in-Residence at The International Centre Goa in summer/monsoon of 2025 to work on his book “A Town So Loved: Shimla, the ‘Chhota Vilayat’ of Indian Himalayas.” In this podcast recorded on 23rd August 2025, Pandey discusses his book on Shimla and his other writings and interests with Pushkar.
