Dierenpark Amersfoort is located at Barchman Wuytierslaan 224, 3819 AC Amersfoort, near the Birkhoven forest. Opened in 1948, the zoo covers about 20 hectares, housing over 100 animal species. Welcomes around 800,000 visitors annually. Member of EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria) and NVD (Dutch Zoo Association). Some highlights of the Zoo are given below: 1. Savannah – Giraffes, zebras, impalas, oryxes. 2. Japanese Garden – Peaceful scenery with koi fish and Japanese cranes. 3. City of Antiquity – Lions, Siberian tigers, baboons, griffon vultures. 4. The Night – A reversed day/night experience with nocturnal animals like sloths and opossums. 5.
