level name: cobweb creator: dustybud id: 126917269 verification video:    • Cobweb By Dustybud Verified Platformer ext...   song:    • Djjaner - Spider Dance (Remix)   huge thanks to tntking531 for verifying the level and allowing me to use his video for requests! cobweb is a platformer extreme demon minigame where you play as a fly dodging web strands from a spider. the level gradually becomes more intense, with smaller and smaller gaps each second! ~ this is by far the level i have the longest history of. i created the first version, sentinel, 5 months ago as a breather when i got bored of decorating cbt. it was a 4 moon level made in less than 100 objects. i utilized the target mode of the move trigger to simulate randomness, which i learned from cbt. i didn't thought it was rate worthy enough, so i decided not to upload it. nevertheless, it was a fun little challenge. Sentinel:    • Sentinel   fast forward 2 months later, i created the second version, disc disco discord or ddd for short. it essentially had the same concept as sentinel, except there was more than 1 saw moving around the board. some flaws this version had was that it took too long to progress and camping at the corners was too viable of a strategy, making it boring to play. to counteract this, i made it so that the discs could only target the borders and shortened the timer. i also added lines from point to point, so you could sightread the level more clearly. i then decorated it in a space disco theme, to match the song choice. it was all well and good. i believe it was rate worthy, but i was extremely far from satisfied. mostly because i didn't put much effort in the deco and i didn't have any idea what to add anymore. so i decided to move on and started to create other projects. DDD 1:    • Disc Disco Discord (DDD) | Preview #1   DDD 2:    • Disc Disco Discord (DDD) | Preview #3   fast forward to 2 weeks ago, i had this strange sudden urge to go back to this level and make it extremely hard lmfao. idk if it was my troll instincts or what, i just wanted to see what it would look like. in this third version, i remade the level entirely. the trigger system became more efficient, so surprisingly i was done with the gameplay in only a day. this time, i wanted to change the theme to something i was more interested in. i thought about using a spider theme, and instantly i liked the idea. i love the colour purple and spiders is a pretty easy theme to work on. the fact that i found a version of spider dance that's exactly 100 seconds long in newgrounds only solidifed the idea. so then, i started decorating and here we are. overall, i'm pretty happy with the outcome. i think the gameplay's fun, despite being incredibly rng lmfao. of course, i'm also really proud of the deco and its progression. as i was creating this, i was only hoping for a moon rate, but i think a feature is now possible? i guess we'll just have to wait and see. i'll try my best to beat it as well. thank you for reading and see you in my next level! :) update: decided to nerf the level by improving the reaction time and only allowing vertical cobwebs to spawn. majority of players seem to think it's about hard-insane demon now
