Armenians burned their homes in the village of Charektar, in the Kalbajar district of the Nagorno-Karabakh region, on Saturday ahead of a handover territory to Azerbaijan under a Russia-brokered peace deal. The district is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, but has been controlled by ethnic Armenians since a war over the Nagorno-Karabakh region in the 1990s. On Sunday, it's expected the Azeris will return and take back control of the area.
