Beef Peralan Recipe | KeralaCurry

This video shows the method to prepare Beef Peralan. Peralan means coated with gravy. Ingredients:- Beef - 1kg, cut into cubes Onion - 2, sliced Shallots - 20, sliced Tomato - 2, sliced Coconut - Half of a coconut, cut into small pieces Garlic - 3 bulbs, sliced Ginger - 1 big piece, sliced Curry Leaves - 2 stems Chilli Powder - 3 tablespoon Coriander Powder - 2 tablespoon Garam Masala - 2 tablespoon Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon Pepper Powder - 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds - 1 teaspoon Salt - To taste Oil - 4 tablespoons Method:- 1) Heat the pressure cooker. Add oil. 2) Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds. 3) Once the mustards splutters, add onion, shallots, garlic, ginger, curry leaves and coconut pieces. 4) Saute them well. 5) Add tomato pieces and saute well. 6) Once the tomato is done, add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and garam masala. 7) Mix the powders well on low flame. 8) Once the powders are sauted, add beef and mix well. 9) Add water and salt. 10) Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 3 whitles. 11) After 3 whistles, turn off the flame and allow the pressure cooker to cool. 12) Once the pressure is gone, open the lid, mix the curry well. 13) If excess water is present, cook for some time with the lid opened. 14) Serve hot
