Mild ventriculomegaly is a finding in fetal brain during anomaly scan in second trimester. If lateral ventricles measurement is more than 10mm, it is called mild ventriculomegaly. It is not an abnormality but it can be present due some abnormalities. It is a soft marker with high likelihood ratio for Trisomy 21 or Down syndrome. It can caused by some infection like TORCH infection or may be due to some brain abnormalities. Amniocentesis for Chromosomal abnormalities and for infection should be done. if no cause id found we should review scan after some to check the size of ventricle and for the evaluation of evolving brain anomalies. The course of ventriculomegaly is very unpredictable. If it resolve with the course of pregnancy the outcomes are good.
